Hand-colored sixth-plate ambrotype in leather case of Sarah Barker Edes Prescott and her young daughter, Alice Barker Prescott (later Blaisdell). Sarah Barker Edes Prescott was the wife of George Lincoln Prescott (1829-1864), colonel of the 32nd Mass. Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. The photograph was taken ca. 1857 by J. Sidney Miller of Nashua, N.H.
